Vinod Sethi Investment Framework
Prepared using Gemini Pro + NotebookLm
Golden rule - control anything that can be controlled and give explicit instructions to AI, else AI will make its own assumptions
Guys, you have to try the new Slide Deck and Infographics features—they are simply awesome!
For those who read my AI presention given in PPFAS , recall the ‘Law and Rules’ slide; that same principle applies here. Since the prompt space in the Slide Deck feature is limited (similar to ‘Custom Instructions’ in ChatGPT), I recommend a specific workflow: place a short, high-level instruction in the prompt box, but upload a separate file containing your detailed instructions into the ‘Source’ section. You can generate these detailed instructions using NotebookLM, Gemini, or any other AI.
There are three ways to generate a presentation using the Slide Deck feature:
Auto-Generate: Let the AI create it without any specific prompt.
Prompt-Assisted: Ask NotebookLM or Gemini to create a specific prompt for you to use.
Source-First (Recommended): Use Gemini to generate a comprehensive document first, upload that document as a source, and then generate the slides. While this takes more time, it consistently produces the best output
Steps to follow
1. Comprehensive Research & Report Generation Used Gemini Deep Research to generate a comprehensive report on Vinod Sethi based on his latest interview (YouTube Link).
2. Contextual Prompting & Weighting Instructed Gemini to prioritize the source material with an 80/20 split: relying 80% on the uploaded interview and 20% on other interviews by Vinod Sethi to clarify and expand upon the concepts discussed.
3. Presentation Outline Creation Directed Gemini to format the output specifically for NotebookLM, requesting a detailed outline for a 25-slide presentation to serve as the structural blueprint.
4. NotebookLM Setup (Crucial Step) Uploaded the Gemini-generated document to NotebookLM [both deep research report and seperately presentation outline]
Note: I ensured the presentation outline was uploaded as a distinct source (or clearly separated within the source).
Prompt: I explicitly instructed NotebookLM to follow this specific outline to generate the slides.
5. Final Output Generation Used the Slidedeck feature within NotebookLM to generate the final 25-slide presentation attached above.
